Frequently asked questions

How we support you

  • When you are rested, connected, supported and equipped, you’re better able to provide care from a place of strength rather than depletion. This benefits you and the person you care for because the care you provide is likely to be more sustainable and less likely to lead to caregiver burnout or crisis.

  • Yes. Our services are fully customized to enhance your specific caregiving journey, no matter who you are caring for.

We compassionately and expertly support caregivers who are:

Caregivers of Aging Loved Ones: Those caring for older adults, often dealing with age-related health issues such as Alzheimer’s/dementia, frailty, and other long-term care needs.

Caregivers of Individuals with Disabilities: Those caring for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities who may face challenges related to mobility, communication, and other daily living activities.

Caregivers of Individuals with Serious Illnesses or Chronic Conditions: Those caring for people with conditions like cancer, heart disease, diabetes or rare diseases.

Caregivers of Individuals with Behavioral or Mental Health Challenges: Those caring for people with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, etc.

Former Caregivers in the Grieving Process: Those who have recently lost someone close to them and are navigating the emotional and psychological challenges of grief. This may include those experiencing anticipatory grief during the caregiving period.

Most caregivers manage complex medical needs and may experience emotional distress, financial strain, physical exhaustion, and are at risk for neglecting their own health needs. High levels of stress, social isolation, and emotional strain due to the unpredictable nature of caregiving may result in feelings of guilt, shame, and helplessness, meaning some caregivers may be at increased risk for mental health difficulties compared to the general population. These challenges can result in caregiver burnout, depression, and anxiety.

  • This wellness experience is for adult family caregivers (over the age of 18) across America who:

    • Are caring for aging loved ones, assisting individuals with disabilities, supporting someone living with a serious illness or chronic condition, navigating behavioral or mental-health challenges, or experiencing bereavement and grief.

    • Want an immersive and luxurious wellness experience ensuring you as the caregiver are able to recharge and improve your caregiving journey.

    • Want to return home with tools, support, and community to continue your caregiving journey with renewed energy and sustainable self-care.

  • From the moment you register, we begin tailoring your experience. We learn about your caregiving context, preferences, goals, and wellness interests. Based on that we adjust aspects of your retreat — personalized wellness sessions, reflection prompts, peer-group opportunities, and even your accommodations and amenities where feasible. This results in an experience that meets you where you are, not a one-size-fits-all program.

  • We strive to ensure our services meet your personal wellness needs, and that support stays with you as long as it’s useful.

Begin with an all-inclusive wellness retreat designed expressly for family caregivers. Over the course of this luxurious getaway you’ll enjoy premium accommodations in tranquil locations, gourmet meals, professionally guided wellness sessions (massage, yoga, pilates, etc.), structured personal time for reflection/meditation/prayer, and meaningful opportunities to connect with others who understand your journey.

You’ll leave not only relaxed, but with a clear plan of action for the long term. All attendees are automatically included in a members-only community where you can take advantage of additional virtual meet-ups, resources, and information.

    Touch points include:

    • Pre-Retreat Group Session: Get primed for the experience and take advantage of an opportunity for introductions.

    • Post-Retreat Group Session: Reconnect with your retreat cohort for a check-in a few weeks after the retreat.

    • Virtual Meetups: Periodic virtual meet-ups where you connect with a broader support network of previous retreat attendees.

    • Resource Bank: Access to a curated archive of articles, videos, tools on practical caregiving advice—available anytime online.

    • Storytelling Platform: If you choose, share your story (via audio, video or writing) to foster the sense of community and support.

  • This experience places you among peers who understand the caregiving journey, so you gain meaningful connection, sharing, and community—reducing the sense of being alone. For example, group-based retreat formats for caregivers show strong positive feedback for the opportunity to share and connect.

  • A support network offers caregivers emotional support, practical advice, and a sense of community. Engaging with others who understand the challenges of caregiving can reduce feelings of isolation and stress. Support networks provide a platform for sharing experiences, learning from others, and accessing resources that can improve the caregiving experience. The collective wisdom and encouragement found in a support network can enhance resilience and coping strategies.

  • A peer network in caregiving consists of individuals who share similar caregiving experiences and challenges. These networks provide a space for caregivers to connect, share advice, and offer mutual support. Peer networks can be formal, such as organized support groups, or informal, like online communities. The strength of a peer network lies in the shared understanding and empathy among its members, which fosters a supportive environment for all involved.

  • Community building involves creating and nurturing a supportive network where individuals can connect, share experiences, and offer mutual support. In the context of a wellness retreat for caregivers, community building fosters a sense of belonging and shared purpose. It encourages open communication, empathy, and collaboration, helping participants feel understood and supported in their caregiving journey.

  • The retreat is the start of the wellness experience. This provides much-needed time to relax, recharge, and connect. The experience is intentionally designed to be immersive and transformative, helping you create a long-term, personalized plan so you can continue to offer the best care possible while simultaneously caring for your own wellbeing. You will also meaningfully connect with other caregivers going through similar experiences, and that connection leads into a long-term support network there when you need it.

  • A wellness retreat offers caregivers a dedicated space to focus on their own health and wellbeing. These retreats provide opportunities for relaxation, stress reduction, and personal growth. By participating in activities like yoga, mindfulness sessions, and structured workshops, caregivers can rejuvenate physically and emotionally. The value of a wellness retreat lies in its ability to help caregivers recharge, gain new perspectives, and return to their caregiving roles with renewed energy and resilience.

  • Attending retreats with fellow caregivers offers a unique opportunity to connect with individuals who share similar experiences and challenges. This shared understanding fosters a supportive community where caregivers can exchange coping strategies, offer emotional support, and reduce feelings of isolation. Engaging with peers in a retreat setting can lead to enhanced emotional resilience and a sense of camaraderie, which is crucial for sustaining long-term caregiving roles.

  • A caregiver-focused luxury wellness retreat offers more than general relaxation. It’s designed specifically for those in caregiving roles, combining premium accommodation, gourmet meals, mindfulness sessions tailored to caregiver stress, peer-support with others in a similar situation, and membership in a broader community where additional resources are provided. These benefits are included so you not only rest but return stronger and more sustained in your role.

  • By taking dedicated time away, you renew your energy and clarity, gain fresh perspective and coping tools, build a supportive peer network, and form an action plan to help maintain balance in your life. This means you’re better equipped to care from a place of strength—not depletion—which benefits both you and the person you care for.

  • Yes, absolutely. Our services are customized to enhance your specific caregiving journey. We foster a community aimed at addressing the unique needs of all caregivers, including those caring for aging loved ones, individuals with physical or mental disabilities, those navigating serious illness or chronic conditions (such as cancer or rare disease), and those experiencing bereavement and grief.

  • The wellness retreats typically cover a range of topics tailored to the needs of those in attendance based on their caregiving roles. These may include stress management techniques, mindfulness practices, self-care strategies, and coping mechanisms for dealing with caregiver burnout. Additionally, retreats often offer workshops on communication skills, addressing family-related challenges, and navigating the emotional complexities of caregiving. The goal is to equip caregivers with tools and knowledge to enhance their wellbeing and effectiveness in their personal lives.

  • Yes — built-in downtime is a key component of the wellness retreat. The sample itinerary includes personal time for resting, reflecting, using spa amenities, enjoying the surrounding environment, journaling, or simply being. We believe unscheduled space is as valuable as structured time because it allows you to digest your experience, rest your mind, and connect with yourself.

  • We focus strongly on integration. You’ll develop a personalized action plan tailored to your situation. You’ll leave with tools, strategies, and a long-term support system via our membership service for continuing support.

  • Returning from a wellness retreat with an action plan means having a personalized roadmap to implement the insights and strategies gained during the experience. This plan typically includes specific, actionable steps to enhance self-care, manage stress, and improve overall wellbeing. It serves as a practical guide to help caregivers integrate the retreat's insights into their daily lives, promoting sustained positive change.

  • Yes. As part of your membership you’ll be invited to virtual meetups, peer-group check-ins, and you’ll have access to our resource bank (articles, tools, videos) to help you stay connected and supported once you return. This helps ensure the wellness experience continues into your daily life.

  • Yes. Depending on your needs and availability, you may have the option to bring a companion if they pay the full fee for attendance and are willing to participate in the retreat. Because the program is optimized for caregivers, we recommend that any companion understands that the focus is on your (and/or their) caregiving role and wellness journey.

  • The retreat is exclusively for family caregivers and is focused on providing you with time for respite and support. For this reason, it is not possible to bring the person you care for. We encourage you to arrange temporary care so you can fully immerse yourself in the experience.

  • Our program is inclusive of all genders unless a specific retreat is clearly labeled otherwise (which we will state). The focus is on caregivers of all backgrounds and everyone is welcome.

  • It's completely understandable to have reservations about sharing personal details. Wellness retreats are designed to respect your privacy and comfort levels. Participation in group discussions and sharing personal experiences is always voluntary. Caregivers are encouraged to engage at their own pace and comfort level, ensuring a supportive and non-judgmental environment. The focus is on providing resources and support, not on forcing disclosure.

  • No prior experience needed. The retreat is designed for all levels. We offer flexible and personalized options, and you’ll always have the freedom to rest or opt out of activity and just reflect or be still.

  • Our retreats are wellness-oriented, immersive, and transformative—but not medical treatment programs. If you are currently managing a serious untreated medical condition, in a current state of crisis (physical or mental), or require intensive clinical monitoring, please consult your health care provider before registering. If needed, contact us and we can help you determine whether the retreat is right for you.

How the wellness retreats work

  • Every retreat attendee is automatically entitled to a complimentary one-year membership period. Upon completion of the complimentary membership period, attendees may re-enroll to continue accessing membership benefits. Complimentary membership is available for each year you attend a retreat. This commitment ensures your transformation continues long after you return home. Complementary membership is available for each year you attend a retreat.

  • The complimentary membership is your key to sustained support. It includes personalized and ongoing support services, invitations to intimate curated virtual meetups, access to an exclusive resource bank, and participation in voluntary storytelling circles.

  • Yes. Upon completion of the complimentary one-year membership period, attendees may re-enroll at an additional fee to continue accessing all membership benefits and remain part of this exclusive peer community.

  • Storytelling platforms give family caregivers a meaningful, safe space to share their experiences, reflect on their journey and connect with others who truly understand. When caregivers engage in storytelling, they often feel recognized and supported, create a greater sense of community, develop greater self-efficacy and empowerment, and reduce emotional distress like anxiety and isolation. By turning caregiving into a shared narrative rather than a silent experience, our storytelling platforms foster community, insight, and lasting wellness.

  • These are intimate, scheduled virtual gatherings conducted via a secure video platform. They foster meaningful connection with a broader community and are enhanced via expert and peer participation, ensuring they remain productive, safe, and supportive environments.

  • The resource bank is a members-only area of our website accessible 24/7. It contains a curated archive of articles, videos, planning templates, and tools designed to provide practical caregiving advice and support your long-term plan.

How membership works

How to book, cancel, reschedule, transfer a reservation

  • The all-inclusive price covers your premium lodging, all gourmet meals and snacks, scheduled wellness sessions (yoga, pilates, mindfulness activities), professionally guided workshops, personalized amenities, and a complimentary one-year membership to our support community.

  • Your welcome packet (sent after booking) will include: the venue address, recommended arrival/departure times, travel/shuttle/parking instructions, and what to expect. Travel to and from is typically at your expense unless a special offer states otherwise. If flying, we recommend arriving early so you arrive relaxed and ready.

  • We tailor meals to support your wellness and dietary needs. You’ll be asked to provide any restrictions or preferences at registration (plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free etc.). If you have especially complex medical diet requirements (e.g., feeding tube, medically mandated nutrition), please contact us in advance so we can evaluate compatibility. Our aim is to provide you with delicious, nutritious food that empowers your wellness journey.

  • To make a booking, please complete the retreat registration form, click the box indicating you agree to the retreat booking terms and conditions, and submit the non-refundable deposit via our site. You will receive an order confirmation reflecting the contents in the retreat registration form.

  • A non-refundable deposit of 25% (the “Non-Refundable Deposit”) of the total retreat fee as indicated on our site is due at the time of booking to reserve your spot at the retreat location and inclusion in the online community. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the retreat start date. If you book within 45 days of the retreat full payment is required at the time of booking.

Confirmation that your spot at the retreat and in the online community has been reserved will be effective upon receipt of the deposit and after you have agreed to the terms and conditions. If payment is not received within this timeframe, your reservation to participate in retreat activities and inclusion in the online community may be released to guests on our waitlist.

All reservations are managed on a first-come, first-served basis and applicable accommodations are allocated in the order payments are received. Please note that late or missed payments may result in forfeiture of your reservation to participate in retreat activities and inclusion in the online community at our discretion.

Those who choose to leave the retreat early or choose not to participate in any activities will not be provided with a refund or credits to future events under any circumstances. This ensures operational stability and respects the limited availability of spaces.

Your travel, personal expenses, optional upgrades, travel/health insurance, and optional excursions are not included  unless otherwise stated in the order confirmation.

  • Payment policy & cancellation/rescheduling details will be clearly provided in your registration materials. Because caregivers’ lives are dynamic, we offer flexibility where feasible, but availability, pricing and retreat logistics may limit changes. Please review full terms carefully. We understand that caregiving responsibilities can change unexpectedly.

At the time we receive written notice that you wish to cancel for any reason, the following refund will apply:

    Date of Cancellation/ Refund:

60 days or more before the Retreat start date = Full refund minus Non-Refundable Deposit.

Between 45 days and 60 days before the Retreat start date = 50% of the total payment made to date, minus the Non-Refundable Deposit.

After the Final Balance Due Date (45 days before the Retreat start date) or no-shows = no refund.

Cancellation of participation in the retreat package will automatically void admission into the online community membership and all associated benefits.

  • If you can’t attend the retreat, you may transfer your reservation to participate in retreat activities and inclusion in the online community to another guest with at least a 14 days’ written notice prior to the retreat start date, provided the replacement guest agrees to be bound by our terms and conditions (including any applicable risk and liability waivers) and pays any outstanding balance, subject to our prior written approval.

  • We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, interruption, and emergency medical situations. Because you are both caregiver and attendee, having that extra protection provides peace of mind and supports your investment.

Guests are required to carry all necessary, valid travel documents, such as passports (with at least six months’ validity), visas, and any required permits or vaccinations, for their destination. Should you be denied boarding or entry due to insufficient or stolen documentation, we will not be liable for any related costs, including accommodations, transportation, personal losses, denied boarding, missed travel connections, or travel disruptions due to inadequate documentation or coverage.
