Caregivers of Individuals with Physical, Intellectual and Intelectual and Developmental Disabilities: Those caring for individuals with physical disabilities, DD, or IDD who may face challenges related to mobility, communication, and other daily living activities.

From the moment you register, we begin tailoring your experience. We learn about your caregiving context, preferences, goals, and networking interests for an experience that meets you where you are, not a one-size-fits-all program.
-
We focus strongly on integration. You’ll develop a personalized action plan tailored to your situation. You’ll leave with tools, strategies, and a long-term support system via our membership service for continued support.
-
A support network offers caregivers emotional support, practical advice, a platform for sharing experiences and learning from others, access to meaningful resources, and a sense of community that can improve the caregiving experience for the long-term.
How the retreat experiences work
-
This experience is for adult family caregivers (over the age of 18) across America who:
Are caring for aging loved ones, individuals with disabilities, those living with a serious illness or chronic condition, those navigating behavioral or mental-health challenges, or if you are experiencing bereavement and grief due to a caregiving role.
Are managing complex medical needs and care coordination across a range of providers, navigating changing family dynamics (such as raising children while caregiving or sharing caregiving responsibilities with others), and/or are adjusting to their caregiving role while maintaining career goals.
Are experiencing emotional distress, physical exhaustion, high levels of stress, social isolation, and/or feelings of guilt, shame, helplessness, burnout, depression, and anxiety.
Are either providing care to someone living with them, providing long-distance care, and/or are caring for someone in a facility or assisted living environment.
Want an immersive and luxurious experience ensuring you as the caregiver are at the center of our planning process and want to return home with a lasting peer network.
-
Our retreat experiences are intentionally designed to be caregiver-focused in every aspect. We ensure each experience is luxurious and set in serene environments so you can take time to breathe. By combining premium accommodations with guided sessions tailored to enhance caregiver peer-support and membership in an ongoing community with additional resources, you’ll return home stronger and more sustained in your role as a caregiver.
-
Yes. Built-in downtime is a key component of the retreat experience. Our sample itinerary includes personal time for resting, reflecting, using spa amenities, enjoying the surrounding environment, journaling, or simply being. We believe unscheduled space is as valuable as structured time because it allows you to digest your experience, rest your mind, and connect with yourself.

Returning from our retreat experiences with an action plan means having a personalized roadmap to implement the insights and strategies gained during the experience. This plan typically includes specific, actionable steps to enhance self-care, learn ways to navigate the interpersonal challenges of caregiving, and continue in your caregiver role from a place of empowerment. It serves as a practical guide to help you integrate insights gained during your time away into your daily life, promoting sustained positive change.
-
Yes. As part of your membership you’ll be invited to virtual meetups, peer-group check-ins, and you’ll have access to our resource bank (articles, tools, videos) to help you stay connected and supported once you return. This helps ensure the experience continues into your daily life.
-
Yes. Depending on your needs and availability, you may have the option to bring a companion if they pay the full fee for attendance and are willing to participate in the retreat. Because the program is optimized for caregivers, we recommend that any companion understands that the focus is on your (and/or their) caregiving role and journey.
-
The retreat is exclusively for family caregivers and is focused on providing you with time for respite and support. For this reason, it is not possible to bring the person you care for. We encourage you to arrange temporary care so you can fully immerse yourself in the experience.
-
Our program is inclusive of all genders unless a specific retreat is clearly labeled otherwise (which we will state). The focus is on caregivers of all backgrounds and everyone is welcome.
-
It's completely understandable to have reservations about sharing personal details. Our retreats are designed to respect your privacy and comfort levels. Participation in group discussions and sharing personal experiences is always voluntary. Caregivers are encouraged to engage at their own pace and comfort level, ensuring a supportive and non-judgmental environment. The focus is on providing resources and support, not on forcing disclosure.
-
Our retreats are not intended to replace medical or clinical treatment programs. If you are currently managing a serious untreated medical condition, in a current state of crisis (physical or mental), or require intensive clinical monitoring, please consult your health care provider before registering. If needed, contact us and we can help you determine whether the retreat is right for you.
How membership works
-
Every retreat attendee is automatically entitled to a complimentary one-year membership period. Upon completion of the complimentary membership period, attendees may re-enroll to continue accessing membership benefits. Complimentary membership is available for each year you attend a retreat. This commitment ensures your experience continues long after you return home.
-
The complimentary membership is your key to sustained support. It includes personalized and ongoing support services, invitations to intimate curated virtual meetups, access to an exclusive resource bank, and participation in voluntary storytelling circles.
-
Storytelling platforms give family caregivers a voluntary and meaningful space to share their experiences, reflect on their journey and connect with others who truly understand. When caregivers engage in storytelling, they often feel recognized and supported, create a greater sense of community, develop greater self-efficacy and empowerment, and reduce emotional distress like anxiety and isolation. By turning caregiving into a shared narrative rather than a silent experience, our storytelling platforms foster community, insight, and lasting wellness.
-
These are private and intimate scheduled virtual gatherings conducted via a secure video platform. They foster meaningful connection with a broader community and are enhanced via expert and peer participation, ensuring they remain productive, safe, and supportive environments.
-
The resource bank is a members-only area of our website accessible 24/7. It contains a curated archive of articles, videos, planning templates, and tools designed to provide practical caregiving advice and support your long-term plan.
How to book, cancel, reschedule, transfer a reservation
-
Your welcome packet (sent after booking) will include: the venue address, recommended arrival/departure times, travel/shuttle/parking instructions, and what to expect. Travel to and from is typically at your expense unless a special offer states otherwise. If flying, we recommend arriving early so you arrive relaxed and ready.
-
We tailor meals to support your dietary needs. You’ll be asked to provide any restrictions or preferences at registration (plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free etc.). If you have especially complex medical diet requirements (e.g., feeding tube, medically mandated nutrition), please contact us in advance so we can evaluate compatibility. Our aim is to provide you with delicious, nutritious food that empowers your journey.
-
To make a booking, please complete the retreat reservation request form. We then follow up with you to include you in our planning process. Once a viable cohort of at least 8 caregivers are confirmed, you can submit a deposit to secure your spot.
-
A non-refundable deposit of 25% (the “Non-Refundable Deposit”) of the total retreat fee as indicated on our site is due at the time of booking to reserve your spot at the retreat location and inclusion in the online community. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the retreat start date. If you book within 45 days of the retreat full payment is required at the time of booking.
Confirmation that your spot at the retreat and in the online community has been reserved will be effective upon receipt of the deposit and after you have agreed to the terms and conditions. If payment is not received within this timeframe, your reservation to participate in retreat activities and inclusion in the online community may be released to guests on our waitlist.
All reservations are managed on a first-come, first-served basis and applicable accommodations are allocated in the order payments are received. Please note that late or missed payments may result in forfeiture of your reservation to participate in retreat activities and inclusion in the online community at our discretion.
Those who choose to leave the retreat early or choose not to participate in any activities will not be provided with a refund or credits to future events under any circumstances. This ensures operational stability and respects the limited availability of spaces.
Your travel, personal expenses, optional upgrades, travel/health insurance, and optional excursions are not included unless otherwise stated in the order confirmation.
If a viable cohort doesn’t form after you submit a deposit, your deposit will be refunded.
-
Payment policy & cancellation/rescheduling details will be clearly provided in your registration materials. Because caregivers’ lives are dynamic, we offer flexibility where feasible, but availability, pricing and retreat logistics may limit changes. Please review full terms carefully. We understand that caregiving responsibilities can change unexpectedly.
At the time we receive written notice that you wish to cancel for any reason, the following refund will apply:
Date of Cancellation/ Refund:60 days or more before the Retreat start date = Full refund minus Non-Refundable Deposit.
Between 45 days and 60 days before the Retreat start date = 50% of the total payment made to date, minus the Non-Refundable Deposit.
After the Final Balance Due Date (45 days before the Retreat start date) or no-shows = no refund.
Cancellation of participation in the retreat package will automatically void admission into the online community membership and all associated benefits.
-
If you can’t attend the retreat, you may transfer your reservation to participate in retreat activities and inclusion in the online community to another guest with at least a 14 days’ written notice prior to the retreat start date, provided the replacement guest agrees to be bound by our terms and conditions (including any applicable risk and liability waivers) and pays any outstanding balance, subject to our prior written approval.
-
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, interruption, and emergency medical situations. Because you are both caregiver and attendee, having that extra protection provides peace of mind and supports your investment.
Guests are required to carry all necessary, valid travel documents, such as passports (with at least six months’ validity), visas, and any required permits or vaccinations, for their destination. Should you be denied boarding or entry due to insufficient or stolen documentation, we will not be liable for any related costs, including accommodations, transportation, personal losses, denied boarding, missed travel connections, or travel disruptions due to inadequate documentation or coverage.
We’re happy to answer any additional questions.
